Arlington Heights, IL standing shower remodel, completed 2019. These homeowners had a 3/4 bathroom with an old fiberglass one piece shower. We removed the fiberglass surround, installed a new vanity, and replaced the flooring.
This was a very tight space to work in, and these homeowners did a fantastic job picking out beautiful tile. Notice that the floor and surround tile coordinates well without looking too busy. They went with a classic white tile in the base of the shower to tone everything down. In general, people choose smaller tile for the shower base to minimize the possibility of cracking.
The final shower is gorgeous! The sliding shower door is ideal for such a small space, rather than a swing door. We installed a quartz corner seat that coordinates perfectly with the base and threshold of this shower. Overall, a stunning transformation!
