The client wanted to change the countertops, replace their old cabinets, which had been refaced once before. Additionally, they were interested in updating the backsplash, flooring and appliances as well. In the dinning room, they wanted to remove the dividing wall and add some cabinets in the corner.
After Photos
The transformation is amazing! The white countertop and subway tile backsplash offer great contrast to the dark cabinets and floors. The island was made smaller in order to let the countertop hand over for a breakfast station. The floors were actually replaced not too long before we started this remodel. Because we ended up making the island more narrow, there was going to be a space with no wood flooring.
We ordered the wooden planks the manufacturer and installed them to hide the seam. You can’t even tell where the old floor meets the new planks! The room is much more open without that wall between the dinning room and kitchen. We love the new cabinets and countertop space added into the dinning room. The new fridge frees up that entrance so it doesn’t feel so cramped.
