Hoffman Estates, IL kitchen renovation completed in 2022. These homeowners had an outdated kitchen with wood cabinets they wanted to refresh. We maintained the layout for the most part. We replaced the cabinets, countertops and flooring, and installed a custom tile backsplash.
In this kitchen, the homeowner wanted to remove the soffits to allow the cabinets to reach the ceiling. Removing soffits does give you more vertical space, but there is always a risk that something important might be inside them. In this case, we did find some mechanical pieces for the HVAC system that needed to be rerouted. At this stage, we have removed the soffits, updated the electrical, and installed all the drywall and sheet rocking for the floor. Sheet rock prevents the tile from cracking.
The final kitchen turned out fantastic! The homeowners went with white cabinets along the walls and wood grain cabinets for the kitchen island. We installed beautiful quartz countertops and a tile backsplash to complete the look. The stainless steal appliances and the neutral flooring pulls the whole room together.
