Mount Prospect, IL primary bathroom remodel completed 2022. These homeowners had an outdated primary bathroom they wanted to update. The original bathroom had only a drop in tub and no shower. On the other side of the primary bathroom, there was a hall bathroom with a shower but no vanity sink. We converted the hall bathroom a power room, while the primary bathroom lost a vanity and gained a shower.
We removed the hall shower and sand installed a vanity sink. In the primary bathroom, we built a custom walk in shower with a bench. We mudded in a beautiful freestanding tub, and installed a new vanity.
Both bathrooms turned out amazing! The new walk in shower is fitted with custom shower door. The homeowners went with a river-rock shower base, and a quartz curb and shower seat. The new freestanding tub is made of cast acrylic. Not only is acrylic easier to maneuver and install, it is less heavy than porcelain or cast iron. That means we did not have to reinforce the floor to accommodate unnecessary weight. Both vanities have matching quartz tops that bring the whole room together.
