Frankfort, IL patio enclosure completed in 2023. These homeowners wanted to enclose both their downstairs patio and upstairs balconies with walls to create an insulated space. We used the brick pillars to install custom sized walls and windows to accomplish this.
For this patio enclosure, we had to start by extending the patio on the ground floor for the new walls to sit on top of. This was done so they would be flush with the brick pillars on the outside. We also cut notches into the existing concrete for the upper walls to slide into. Once the walls were ready to go up, we installed each floor one at a time. The very top floor required the rental of a cherry picker – a first for us!
The final sunroom turned out great! These homeowners now have three more floors of usable living space that will maintain temperature throughout the year. We love doing these patio enclosure type projects because why not maximize space you already have!
