Arlington Heights, IL walk-in shower installation, completed in 2022. These homeowners had an old Priceline tub with a white 4X4 tile surround. They wanted to do a tub to shower conversion with an acrylic base and large tiles for fewer grout lines.
Any time we do a tub to shower conversion, we need to modify the drain to fit a shower rather than a tub. The reason for this is that the shower needs to drain faster than a tub to avoid overflowing. In the photos you can see the plumbing modification, and the updating of the shower valve.
The finished bathroom is phenomenal! The homeowners went with an acrylic pan and 18X12 inch tiles. We installed a beautiful sliding glass door that makes the whole bathroom appear larger. We also installed a vanity cabinet, sink and new mirrors to complete the look.
